U.S. Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas) speaks to IAGA members at the 31st annual International Association of Gaming Advisors conference in Las Vegas. Author of the Online Poker Act of 2011, Barton explains the state’s rights available under HR 2366, which would allow for interstate licensing and regulation of online poker. Speaking candidly, he also outlines the challenges facing the bill and its likelihood for passage, telling the audience: “I would say we’ve got one chance in three. It’s better than drawing an inside straight, but it’s not pocket aces, which wins 88 percent of the time.”
