AGEM Announces Four New Members
The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) announced that its board of directors has approved the membership applications of four new companies, bringing the trade group comprised of the world’s leading gaming suppliers to a total of 112 members. The new AGEM members are: Carmanah Signs, a leading supplier of LCD and LED signage for gaming, hospitality and food-service areas; DiTronics Financial Services, a provider of ATMs, cash advance, check cashing and other cash access solutions to the gaming industry; Greenberg Traurig LLP, an international full-service law firm with more than 1,750 attorneys that traces its roots in Las Vegas back to 1969 where it focuses its practice primarily on the gaming industry; and Portwell, a global IPC manufacturer with more than 18 years of experience providing a wide array of industrial-grade products in various applications. Bally Technology Implemented by Seminole Tribe of Florida, Wins Two Awards
Bally Technologies Inc. announced that the Seminole Tribe of Florida Inc. is implementing Bally’s award-winning iVIEW DM and Elite Bonusing Suite solutions to engage and excite patrons at its Seminole Casino Coconut Creek. Gary Platt Manufacturing Ships to Singapore, the U.S.
November was a very good shipping month for Gary Platt Manufacturing. Large orders of a few thousand chairs each were shipped to major casinos. Numerous other orders were also shipped. Some of the larger orders went to the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, Creek Casino-Montgomery in Montgomery, Ala., Harrah’s Cherokee West Casino in Cherokee, N.C., and Juegos De Video y Entretenimiento in Mexico. Bo Bernhard Named Executive Director of UNLV International Gaming Institute
Bo Bernhard was named executive director of the International Gaming Institute (IGI) at the UNLV Harrah Hotel College. Bernhard’s award-winning body of research has spanned more than 15 years and has been widely cited by academic, industry and governmental institutions. Bernhard’s projects have been prominently featured in local and national media outlets (including CNN, PBS, NPR, The New York Times, The Australian Broadcasting Channel and The History Channel). He has directed more than $1 million in grant-funded research projects, on subjects ranging from the socio-economic impacts of gaming industries to biological drivers of gambling behavior to Internet gaming policy. SPIELO International to Provide AGLC with Distributed Game Management Value-Added Module
Lottomatica Group S.p.A. announced that its subsidiary, SPIELO International, has been selected by the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) in Canada to provide SPIELO’s Distributed Game Management Value-Added Module for its INTELLIGEN™ video lottery terminal (VLT) central system. Cantor Gaming to Operate the Race & Sports Book at Palms Casino Resort
Cantor Gaming and Palms Casino Resort announced they have signed a long-term agreement for Cantor Gaming to operate the race and sports book and offer mobile gaming at the Palms, commencing in the first quarter of 2012. Cantor Gaming will build a new race and sports book that offers sports betting fans the latest in technological advancements, including Cantor Gaming’s mobile sports wagering, and its wireless gaming system which will be available across the entire resort area.
