If you don’t already know about the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM), Marcus Prater, the trade organization’s new executive director, is about to change that.

“After eight years in existence, AGEM was suffering from an identity crisis,” Prater says. “I want everyone in the industry to know what AGEM stands for. I want them to know what we do, who our members are, and what we represent.”

Prater and his fellow AGEM members have certainly done an outstanding job of spreading the word thus far. During the past eight months, Prater and AGEM members have been busy publicizing AGEM and its mission to further the interest of gaming equipment manufacturers worldwide through political action, tradeshow partnerships, information dissemination and good corporate citizenship. But, that’s not all AGEM is about.

Together, AGEM has assisted regulatory commissions and participated in the legislative process to solve problems and create a business environment where AGEM members can prosper. And that means organizing educational opportunities that support its members and the industry, promoting the expansion of responsible gaming, and providing a forum where all members can share information to better the industry.

Since Prater took over the reins as executive director, the organization has drastically increased membership, strengthened its position internationally, continued to co-develop and fund a slot tech curriculum at the College of Southern Nevada, proactively solved industry related issues, and managed to plan the party of the year at November’s G2E.

And while it may seem that Prater has managed to do more in the last eight months than ever before, he hasn’t been without help. “Jack Bulavsky, AGEM’s former executive director, did a fantastic job positioning AGEM before I took over last March,” Prater says. “Without his hard work and dedication to the organization over the years, it would have been much more difficult to accomplish what the organization has this year.”

“Jack Bulavsky did a super job for us,” Brooke Dunn, AGEM’s president, adds. “We were sad to see him go, but were lucky to have Marcus step up to the plate. Marcus’ experience fit right in with our goals.”

Now with Prater at the helm, the organization has many strategic plans for the coming year. “We want to be involved with every significant issue that affects our suppliers worldwide,” Prater says, which is quite an admirable goal because as he also notes, “Those issues are the great unknown.”

AGEM also plans to continue its educational mission. “AGEM’s educational mission is at the top of our priority list,” Prater says. “We want to continue expanding our educational curriculum, like the one we developed at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN), into other areas of the country. In fact, at CSN this year, enrollment is up from 174 to 243 since last year, with more than 200 slot techs on track to graduate this year. We focus on this mission because it gives the operators qualified and highly-skilled employees, which in turn helps our members.”

“It’s a great precedent to set,” adds Dunn, “because now other schools can look at what we’ve done, and emulate it. And when the students graduate, they can get a job at a casino or at a manufacturing company.”

Helping vendors and operators alike find highly-skilled employees doesn’t just benefit those companies, it also helps the communities in which they reside and the people that live there. To communicate the positive effects the industry has on the county, AGEM has been feverishly working on it first annual Economic Impact Study, which it hopes to have available at G2E this November.

“We’re hoping to finalize the Economic Impact Study in the next few weeks, so we can share that information and utilize it as a means of providing balanced information in any debate on gaming,” Prater says. “The key information we bring to that dialogue as suppliers is the fact that gaming is an important economic contributor, in terms of employment and tax revenues. Our goal with the Economic Impact Study is to aggregate this information across our membership base to indicate its importance. It’s not just direct employment numbers that matter, but the ancillary employment numbers that are derived from having gaming in a particular jurisdiction, everything from food and beverage to construction to gaming revenues.”

The American Gaming Association publishes a similar study titled, “The State of the States,” but Orrin Edidin, AGEM’s vice president, assures that AGEM’s is unique. “Ours is from a supplier’s perspective,” he says. “Our members will now be armed with information from the operators, which is very rich in terms of incremental tax revenues generated by gaming. Also, people think of employment gains in terms of how many casino employees are hired. When you consider the number of people employed by the suppliers to those operators, and the suppliers to these suppliers, it is an important factor when considering establishing or maintaining gaming in a particular jurisdiction.”

Another critical mission for AGEM is responsible gaming initiatives. “We are very active in problem gaming issues, which is a short term and long term goal in different markets and nationally,” says Prater.

“We strongly support the national effort and statewide initiatives and participate in several fundraisers, as well as give an honorarium every year,” Dunn adds. “We believe this is a great industry, and we believe it should grow responsibly.”

Fostering a spirit of cooperation among members is another top priority for AGEM. “Access to industry intelligence and networking are such an integral part of the organization,” Edidin says. And it’s members like WMS, of which Edidin is the president, that make the organization so diversified. “It’s important to get perspectives from different size suppliers that have issues arising in domestic and international markets. It has become a much more rounded organization because we have jurisdictional and product representation that we didn’t have in the past.

“WMS is the largest domestic manufacturer based outside of Nevada, and that helps me, as AGEM’s vice president, offer a more national perspective. The other members have enthusiastically embraced that. Bringing together a large group of vendors from across the world allows us to share ideas and diverse perspectives. Moreover, the spirit of cooperation within AGEM is really quite notable when you consider most of us are competitors.”

It is that spirit of togetherness that will make one of the biggest statements at this year’s G2E. For the first time ever, AGEM and all its members are hosting a joint party. “Normally, each vendor would spend a lot of money on lavish parties for essentially the same group of customers,” Edidin notes. “We would all compete for the same group over the same night. We thought it best, since we are all members of AGEM anyways, to sponsor a single event that we could throw on a much grander scale. This is the first year we’re doing it, and we have high hopes and expectations.”

“The G2E party is a fantastic way for us to spread our message and to show people we do have the ability to come together and do great things for the industry, even though we are competitors,” Dunn adds.

The party, “A World Celebration of Gaming,” is Nov. 18 from 6:30 – 11:00 pm at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. It is invitation only, so connect with an AGEM member to assure you don’t miss out on the food, drinks and entertainment. Kenny Loggins will provide some “footloose” music for a crowd of more than 5,000 when he takes the stage around 9 pm.

All gaming industry vendors out there large and small, sit up and take note. AGEM is a powerful force in this industry and hopes to include you in its mission. “I want AGEM to be the organization that takes on all issues around the world,” says Prater. “We’re not ready to do that today. But strategically targeting prominent and well-respected companies worldwide is the beginning. One of the misnomers is that the A in AGEM stands for American. We want to represent suppliers and markets worldwide in due time.”

Your Bally, Your Way

G2E Overview
At this year’s G2E Bally Technologies will spotlight an unparalleled array of gaming products and technology, including the industry’s first multi-game stepper and its new world-class Systems Version 11. The company’s booth, with more than 250 games on display, will also highlight Bally’s commitment to enhancing its video slot library with innovative, high-performing games.

One of Bally’s key launches will be the new five-reel stepper version of the GameMaker® HD multi-game platform, the first reel-spinning slot to offer multi-game capability. Offering players the ultimate in choice and control, GameMaker Multi-Game Reel Slots feature three unique game themes with one classic brand.

Bally will also introduce several new cabinet configurations, including a new DualVision™ multi-player gaming platform based on Bally’s CineVision™ cabinet. DualVision features a single segmented video display, bench seating for two, and a common bill acceptor designed for “couples” play.

Bally will also debut a series of eight-foot “jumbo” cabinet styles in three different configurations: video, stepper, and stepper with an “Instant Spin prize feature” top box. Also on display will be Bally’s new “Transparent Reels” stepper concept, featuring technology that allows for 3-D video and animated displays in conjunction with the mechanical reels.

Taking center stage will be Power Strike™, an exciting new concept in progressive video slots that allows operators to build the retail cost of a luxury item—such as a motorcycle, boat, car or vacation—into the actual game math, allowing the cost of the item to be configured into the top jackpot award as if it were cash.

Bally plans to unveil a variety of new licensed gaming products, including a new Playboy® video slot game and enhanced versions of its two retro-themed Skill Series™ Atari® video slots: Pong™ and Breakout!™ Bally also plans to debut another licensed title called Breeders’ Cup, which is a thrilling horse racing themed group play game based on the famous Breeders’ Cup championship.

In Systems, Bally will spotlight its new Version 11, which runs on UNIX, Windows and iSeries platforms and features new and easy-to-navigate user interfaces, making systems administration much easier. Built for the global marketplace, Version 11 has multiple currency and language features and is suitable for any size casino.

Another key launch is Bally’s Business Intelligence Solutions™, a powerful data analytics and visualization solution that gives operators greater understanding of their players and gaming floor.

Bally’s leadership in the Networked Floor of the Future™ will be highlighted with live demonstrations of downloadable marketing promotions and messages through iVIEW™ SmartScreen™ interactive displays. The iVIEW network and Bally Systems provides improved service, customized marketing at the point of play, second ways to win, dynamic game configuration, revenue management, and support for responsible gaming—on games from every manufacturer.

Bally will also showcase its new iVIEW Display Manager™, which allows gaming operators to create picture-in-picture capability.

Also on display will be Bally’s G2S-compliant Download Configuration Manager™, which enables casinos to download and configure Bally’s cabinets with new game content as well as adjust a wide variety of game configurations and schedule and download iVIEW content.

A New Era of Gaming Solutions

G2E Overview

This year’s G2E will see Atronic introduce its new corporate identity to the gaming industry and demonstrate the strength of its affiliation with GTECH and Spielo through a line-up of innovative and exciting new products.

Passion Slots™ 5-Reel
Atronic America’s Passion Slots stand an impressive 8 feet tall when mounted on an 18-inch base and will initially be available with licensed and unlicensed titles. Featuring five full-sized reels backlit by intense LED technology, this attractive cabinet incorporates multiple video screens to the classic stepper and is the next phase in the Atronic stepper series.

prodiGi Vu™
As part of GTECH’s Gaming Solutions group, Atronic also offers Spielo’s latest slot machine, the prodiGi Vu. Equipped with the sensysTM platform, the prodiGi Vu offers features that greatly enhance the player’s experience and a design that welcomes future innovations.
Also new this year is an innovative community bonus concept called Tree of RichesTM where all players have the chance to share in the winnings.  Finally, available on the prodiGi Vu cabinet, is the tournament software TournaMasterTM and the multi-game, multi-level standalone progressive Jewelly™.

TITAN™
The impressive TITAN machine, the first fully-functional, oversized video gaming machine, has received several upgrades, including a move to the Hi(!)bility platform. Standing 6.5 feet tall and over 3 feet wide, this long-time favorite offers all the same features as a standard slot machine.

Industry Outlook
The gaming industry is seeing a lot of activity in the area of community games, where players are given the opportunity to play as a team or against one another. This form of game play has been well received in player market validations and should continue to increase in popularity. A second trend that is finding its way on to casino floors is the addition of functionality that greatly enhances player interaction through advanced audio, video and tactile game features. Players are enveloped with the sights and sounds of their favorite games through technology that includes 3-D game screens, chairs with audio and motion capabilities, and digital button boards with tactile response functionality. This is a very exciting trend that brings gaming to a whole new level.

Servicing these trends are Atronic’s Linked Gaming Products, includuing a vast array of wide area progressives, multi-level jackpots, bonus features, and competitive and community bonus games. Added to the list of the company’s licensed products this year are the hilarious Three StoogesTM brand; MGM’s extremely popular television show StargateTM; and exciting new concepts and titles for the Deal or No DealTM family of games.

Same world… Different perspective…

G2E Overview
At this year’s G2E, Konami Gaming Inc. will demonstrate its different perspective in the marketplace, as the brand has been making critical decisions to differentiate itself within the gaming industry.

Konami will showcase new titles on its performance-proven K2V™ platform along with increased game functionality in its line of high denominational games and new 50/100 line game configurations. A new type of game, called Mirror Reels™, will be shown on Konami’s K2V™ and Advantage 5™ platforms. This game is activated when two or more reels display the same symbols in the same row.

Konami will also be showing six new game titles on the Advantage 5 platform. At last year’s G2E, Konami unveiled a new type video game on its K2V called Xtra Rewards™; this year Konami will show its new type of game on the Advantage +™ platform. Players activate the extra feature with a certain number of credits. If the extra feature is bet, the player is awarded the extra feature. If not, only the base game is played.

Konami will also introduce its community-style play title Beat the Field™, featuring an exciting horserace themed event.

Additionally, Konami is very excited for its Manufacturer’s Presentation, taking place at G2E on Thursday, Nov. 20.  This will be the ideal setting for customers to hear Konami Gaming’s position on server-based gaming and to gather new product information in an intimate setting off the show floor.

Konami is seeing a refocused effort on the player and the player’s experience and is committed to creating products that are exciting and unique to the industry, like the Advantage 5™. The Advantage 5 is the first 5-reel stepper platform in the industry with full-sized mechanical reels.  Multicolor LEDs behind the reels that can display 256 colors, forward and reverse spin, and a mirrored row of lights in the top box allowing for a dimensional lighting feature are just a few of the features making this platform so successful. Since this stepper platform’s introduction, its games, including Vibrant 7’s, Dragon Crystal, and Diamond Spinner, have been top performers at casinos across North America.

The Konami Casino Management System (KCMS) has evolved into a powerful tool for effective slot floor management. Most recently, the acquisition of a CMS company, Mindset, and the introduction of Patron 360™ has given KCMS the ability to give casino operators that 360-degree view of patron worth. Through its exciting new games and insightful systems, Konami strives to entertain and inform so that its customers can make important business decisions in an ever changing gaming industry.

Freedom to Control your Casino’s Destiny

G2E Overview
The main initiative at G2E this year for WMS is to illustrate the fact that the brand provides customers the freedom to control their own destiny. From innovative products and technologies to truly open and interoperable network systems, WMS gives customers the ability to put the right applications in place for the right solutions. This means casinos are able to create the most compelling environment possible for their customers.

Creating the ultimate casino floor requires more than a partner who offers innovative games. It requires a partner that:

    •    embraces the players’ voice and offers solutions that ensure unique and engaging player experiences;
    •    enables you to harness the power of knowledge and real-time data to expand patron relationships;
    •    understands the value of a truly open and interoperable network architecture and delivers; and
    •    has an undeniable and reassuring track record of success.

WMS successfully commercialized community gaming, sensory immersion gaming, and trasmissive reels gaming back in late 2006 and has since established itself in each product category with title after title that has proven to have great customer support.

Now, WMS has introduced its fourth foundational technology platform with Adaptive Gaming and the debut of Star Trek. These first-of-their-kind products are being met with unbelievable player reception and allow WMS to demonstrate the enhanced content and gaming experiences that will be enabled by networked architecture.

And the innovation isn’t exclusive to just these categories. WMS continues to debut unique offerings with its video and mechanical products, further establishing the brand as a full-floor provider of premium content in categories like the aforementioned community gaming, sensory immersion gaming, transmissive reels gaming, adaptive gaming, the video innovations series, and its many 3RM and 5RM mechanical products. One might even wonder, what’s more innovative, the games or the company behind them?

As the largest slot manufacturer and diversified casino supply company in the Atlantic City/Philadelphia region, and as one of the largest privately owned companies of its kind in the world, AC Coin & Slot plays a pivotal role in bringing slot floors to life across North America. The company offers turnkey solutions for casinos that encompass proprietary bonusing slot machines, custom interior signage, sculpted displays, ergonomic seating and slot bases, all of which can be combined to form custom-themed slot environments. AC Coin & Slot is the exclusive distributor of IGT gaming devices in Atlantic City and the Caribbean and utilizes IGT paytables in all of its bonusing slot machines.

This year marks AC Coin & Slot’s 30th year serving the gaming industry. In 2008 alone, the company has released 16 unique proprietary bonusing games and five community-style games, and has outfitted the slot floors of dozens of North America’s finest casinos, including a custom-themed Havana Rooftop Slots environment for Tropicana Atlantic City. In 2008, AC Coin & Slot released games with 25-line and higher paytables, enhanced visuals, superior audio, ergonomic bases and chairs, and social games that bring excitement to the slot floor and encourage casino patrons to share the enjoyment of playing together. Proprietary games such as When In Rome™, Chef’s Daily Special™ and Big Game Show Gold Edition Bonus™ doubled and tripled slot floor averages in nearly all installed locations across North America. Others, such as Super Bankroll Bonus™ and Slingo Bonus Deluxe™, demonstrated AC Coin & Slot’s leadership in community gaming and its effort to bridge the worlds of online and casino entertainment.

Throughout the past year, the company has streamlined internal processes and increased efficiencies to adapt to customers’ rapidly changing needs. AC Coin & Slot has expanded its sales and management forces to include former regional-specific casino operators who know their markets well and understand what their customers—some of them former colleagues—need most to improve their businesses. It is this level of commitment, true partnership and in-depth knowledge that company executives strive to continue and enhance moving into 2009.

The industry’s increasing reliance on bonusing games has prompted AC Coin & Slot to develop a plan to release 30 percent more slot titles in 2009 than in 2008—more games than ever before in the company’s history. Upcoming AC Coin & Slot games such as Wild Native Spirit™, Double 3x4x5x Pay Slotto™ and Big Cash Slotto Sweepstakes™ will kick off this effort, appearing in casinos across North America as early as November 2008, including those surrounding the G2E conference in Las Vegas.

G2E Overview

Action Gaming is illustrating how partnering with videopoker.com can influence player behavior and drive traffic to a casino’s website and facilities to increase loyalty and revenues. The company will be introducing new video poker themes in the Action/IGT booth at G2E, illustrating how proven business-to-consumer Web programs have enabled casinos to attract and register new players and increase visitation.

From a business perspective, video poker remains a strong segment. New games like Super Times Pay and Ultimate X Poker have introduced volatility to the poker player without requiring new strategies. The multi-game product All-Star Poker is driving huge revenues with many player-favorite games all bundled into a greatest hits-style game.

Industry Outlook

A key consumer trend Action Gaming sees is the use of the Web to introduce and let players play and practice new poker games free before visiting casinos. The use of free contests and other tools are also proving to be very valuable in driving players to casinos’ websites, as well as to the actual casinos.

Our Game Math Adds to Your Success!

G2E Overview

Casino Technology has positioned itself as a leading provider of high quality, innovative casino products designed to captivate players’ attention, resulting in increased revenues for casinos. At G2E 2008, Casino Technology will demonstrate the company brand and what it stands for—high-quality, innovative products and successful game design customized to meet the local requirements of the different markets—to underscore that the company is committed to continue to introduce new technologies to the casino industry.

Casino Technology looks forward to setting a new industry standard for game cabinets by introducing an innovative concept, the GEMINI SENSA. Featuring an array of new options and comprehensive solutions, the cabinet is designed to take the player’s comfort and interaction to completely new levels. The range of improvements ensures better visual presentation, accessibility and multi-functional user-friendly environment, consistent with natural ergonomics. Panorama LCD displays provide a better viewing area for greater visual impact; a third auxiliary monitor provides a real-time entertainment broadcast; an improved stereo sound system focuses the sound towards the player, limiting the accidental noise interference; and many other great features allow the player to enjoy the game and to receive enhanced sensations during the play.

GEMINI SENSA was developed from the research and analysis of players’ requirements and customer feedback from thousands of GEMINI units around the world.

The new cabinet keeps the essential must-haves of the GEMINI series, including easy serviceability and maintenance, along with player comfort and ergonomics, but the GEMINI SENSA also makes a huge jump ahead in player entertainment and enhanced user features. Although fitted with more devices and improvements, thanks to the smart engineering solutions, GEMINI SENSA occupies less space on the casino floor.

Casino Technology also will introduce a variety of new game titles for the company’s high performance video slots, including Deep Water Fishing, Kilimanjaro Treasure, Ocean Madness, Queen of Nubia and Queen of Fruits. Additionally, the company will launch another multi-game version for the MULTI GEMINI VIII.

About the Company

Casino Technology holds a quality system Certificate ISO 9001-2001 for design, development, manufacturing, sales and service of gaming equipment. The company products have been certified by authoritative world laboratories, including GLI, BMM, SIQ, TÜV RHEINLAND, as well as many local laboratories and institutions. To comply with gaming regulations, the company’s products are currently approved and certified in various jurisdictions.

Alliance of JCM, TransAct and 3M TouchSystems™ create a one-stop shop for the world’s best peripheral products. Our awarding winning products provide currency validation, secure ticket printing, the finest LCD displays, and the most accurate and robust touch screen technology.

G2E Overview

At G2E 2008, JCM Global will be expanding its alliance relationships by welcoming 3M TouchSystems™, and its initiative will be to focus on the convenience of having a one-stop shop for world-class products and outstanding customer service.

JCM will show the award-winning Universal Bill Acceptor® (UBA); Intelligent Cash Box® (ICB); and Trident® TableSafe System, a patented cash handling system for table games.

The UBA is the ideal solution for casino operators and manufactures alike. The UBA helps operators battle counterfeiters with its advanced combination of optical and magnetic sensing capabilities, employing both overt and covert validation methods. For manufacturers, the UBA is one bill validator that can be used in all markets; it is suitable for all the world’s jurisdictions and their currencies.

The ICB improves a casino’s overall accounting efficiency by automating soft count processes and eliminating human errors. With ICB, there is no need to presort cash cans. ICB generates a wealth of reports, including a secure report of total currency accepted and an accurate link to the slot machine that the ICB was removed from. The cashbox gives full reporting of acceptance percentages and of total currency accepted by denomination.

The Trident TableSafe System is only the product of its kind in the world. Its secure acceptance, validation and security features combine with real-time, advanced reporting—perfect for today’s table games business and built with flexibility for future upgrades. Trident’s incredible benefits begin when it validates and accounts for currency at the table, a far better method than the unsecured paddle drop used today. Beyond its validation functions, Trident is a cash management system for table games, giving you a complete look at the entire cash flow in the pit in real time with baseline accuracy.

Cash remains king in casino gaming around the world, so JCM’s line of secure cash systems such as the UBA persists as the first line of defense against counterfeiting in casinos the world over. And as the U.S. economy continues to lag, operators are demanding more from player reporting and operating efficiencies, demands which are served very well by JCM’s ICB and Trident systems. JCM is fully prepared for the emerging new technology of networked gaming/server-based gaming.

Proven Performance. Increased Profits.

G2E Overview

MEI’s main initiative at G2E is to build upon its reputation for providing the industry’s best bill validator and expand what it can offer through its knowledge of increasing security and acceptance. MEI strives to make each customer more profitable. Performance trial after performance trial has documented that CASHFLOW SC creates more money in the cashbox.

MEI has expanded its offering to casinos with the introduction of EASITRAX Soft Count. The integrated software/hardware solution places information collected in the CASHFLOW SC bill validator into a database that can be networked to multiple locations and be accessed to analyze slot floor performance. RFID technology is used to connect slot machine asset numbers and bill validator operational information to a specific cashbox. Accessing data has never been faster, allowing operators to base decisions on several instant reports programmed within the accompanying software: acceptance rate of what is in the cashbox; currency report documents how many bills are in each cashbox and the percentage of collected denominations over a period of time; drop status manages the daily collection of the money and cashboxes; jams reports, if they occur, identifying potential problems; rejection types defines one of seven categories as to why the bill was rejected; and version report ensures each bill validator has up-to-date software.

MEI is finding the need for its core competencies—security and acceptance—beyond the game and throughout the casino floor. Historically, the casino cage was left vulnerable to counterfeits because it was limited to validation systems such as UV lights and security pens. This is no longer the case with the CASHFLOW Sphinx. MEI brought the world-renowned security, reliability and acceptance rates of CASHFLOW SC to the casino cage, making it a more secure environment. MEI is also leveraging its ability to collect information with EASITRAX Soft Count. Through RFID technology, EASITRAX Soft Count takes the information collected from the CASHFLOW SC bill validator to create several reports, including acceptance rate and drop status.

Current Marketing Campaign:

Your Needs. Our Solutions.™

About the Company
Progressive Gaming’s main initiative is to focus on its customers, find out what their needs are, and provide them with innovative solutions to match those needs. Progressive Gaming’s current campaign message is keenly focused on its core and prospective customer needs.

Progressive Gaming is a leader of enterprise gaming solutions and technology supplier of integrated casino and jackpot management systems for the global gaming industry. The company believes the current market segment trends include server-based gaming, closing in on the new demographic of gamblers, and a surge toward more proactive responsible gaming initiatives.

Server-based Gaming
Progressive Gaming aims to peel back the layers of the mystique surrounding server-based gaming. In its simplest form, server-based gaming is the act of increasing personal interaction between the operator and the patron in a variety of different ways, using a myriad of gaming device options, which may or may not look like traditional slot machines. The goal? Enhance the players’ enjoyment and be the first to give them what they don’t even know they want.

New Demographics
The new generation of gamers has no technology fear factor. Progressive Gaming believes they want to be challenged, they want instant gratification, and they want to be entertained. In-game wagering, the value-added benefits of more interactive technology, and the perks associated with wireless gaming devices speak directly to those wants; they’re challenging, can offer instantaneous results and provide pure entertainment.

The new demographic is native to technology, they use cell phones to communicate virally and in written form, they’ve never used a typewriter, they play games on handheld devices, they TiVo their favorite shows, and the vehicles they drive are armed with navigational tools that speak to them. They’re more than ready for technology on the casino floor.

Responsible Gaming

Operators worldwide have acknowledged the increased social pressure to institute new proactive measures on the gaming floor and produce campaigns promoting responsible gaming initiatives. Progressive Gaming is answering that charge by working closely with our peers and customers to incorporate technology into the plan for combating gaming addiction and supports three key, globally identified measures: 1) Prevent problem gamblers from harming themselves financially; 2) discourage underage gambling; and 3) educate new gamblers about the potential for addiction.

Progressive Gaming has identified these trends and is dedicated to leading the way through a convergence of disciplines and best practices which focus on the common goal of a customer and patron-centric focus for success.

Bringing More To The Table

G2E Overview
With the growing popularity of table games, the need for products that deliver an exciting player experience in a secure atmosphere has never been greater, and at G2E 2008, Shuffle Master will exhibit numerous products that not only improve table productivity, profitability and security, but also enhance the gaming experience for table game players. The company’s shufflers are world-renowned for their productivity, profitability and security enhancing features, and at G2E, Shuffle Master will prominently display the i-Deal™, its newest singledeck specialty shuffler that features card recognition technology that enables casinos to verify winning hands immediately after the round is completed. Other new products, technologies and services that Shuffle Master will introduce at G2E this year include the i-TableTM and RoyalMatch 21TM Progressive.

i-Table™
As Shuffle Master’s newest electronic table system, the i-Table combines a variety of patented products to create an exciting new table game experience for players and casinos. Utilizing six touchscreen player stations embedded in a standard-size blackjack table, the i-Table combines an intuitive electronic betting interface with a live dealer who deals the selected game from the appropriate Shuffle Master Utility Product (e. g. i-Shoe intelligent card-reading shoe for games like blackjack and baccarat, or the i-Deal specialty shuffler that includes card recognition). By automating the betting process, the i-Table dramatically increases game security, accuracy and speed, resulting in an estimated 30 percent increase in rounds per hour and eliminating errors. Its integrated card and bet recognition functionality instantaneously records a variety of crucial table game data points, including actual win/loss and handle per player, while providing accurate player ratings and skill analysis. Finally, the i-Table platform provides casinos with an unprecedented level of game versatility: Its integrated software and hardware configuration makes it easy to switch between popular shoe-dealt games like blackjack and baccarat or specialty games like Three Card Poker® and Ultimate Texas Hold’em® as player demand dictates.

Royal Match 21™ Progressive
Royal Match 21 Progressive is an optional progressive bonus bet for blackjack that considers the first two cards a player receives. If a player’s first two cards are the same suit or a royal match (a king and queen in suit), the player wins. To begin each round, players make a standard blackjack wager and the Royal Match 21 progressive wager. The dealer then follows house procedures for blackjack. Once each player has received his first two cards, the dealer settles royal match wagers. If a player has two suited cards, he wins according to the paytable. If a player’s first two cards are not suited, he loses his royal match wager. All bonus payouts apply to a player’s first two cards only.

Industry Outlook
Over the past several years, the industry has witnessed a continued growing interest in the popularity of table games, both in their traditional live form and in the rapidly growing electronic table games segment. The worldwide popularity of live table games continues to grow, and Shuffle Master estimates that during the next five years, the Asian gaming market alone will add over 12,000 new live tables to the worldwide table game market. This growth, when combined with the projected growth other key areas should also experience, should result in over 75,000 live tables in operation worldwide by 2012. Second, the company anticipates that the worldwide proliferation of electronic table gaming will continue to increase and is confident that e-Tables will become even more important components of the casino product mix as more operators realize their fiscal and operational benefits. Finally, Shuffle Master anticipates that the worldwide specialty table game market will continue to grow. Over the past several years, the industry has witnessed the resurgence of table games’ popularity, and the specialty table game segment continues to be the fastest growing segment in gaming.

The Power of One

G2E Overview
Since the Crane Co. acquisition of CashCode nearly three years ago, CashCode has been working to educate users about Crane and introduce them to the strength and engineering diversity that Crane brings to the industry. Together with Crane’s two other currency handling subsidiaries, NRI and Telequip, CashCode is now introducing customers to its new divisional name of Crane Payment Solutions and will be exhibiting as such at this year’s G2E show.

At G2E, CashCode will launch the industry’s much-anticipated new gaming bank note validator, the CashCode One. Benefits to the end user include fastest validation speed; four-way barcode ticket acceptance, improving customer experience; superior validation (security against counterfeits); “drop-proof” cash box; expandable memory to allow for increased bill sets or future upgrades; USB connectivity; and overall greater reliability. CashCode has also incorporated remote upgradeability for ongoing software updates for new bills.

The name One is appropriately suited for this product, as it clearly articulates CashCode’s value proposition to OEMs and operators alike: to deliver innovative payment solutions that improve the customer experience while reducing total cost of ownership.
In the past, OEMs had to stock and support various models for various countries in which they sold their machines. Some countries required different power interfaces, as well as unique models depending on the width of currency being validated. CashCode has removed all the variances with One. One model will handle any of the supported protocols, interfaces, currencies, etc. This newest solution is truly unique in the industry and will definitely reduce OEM and operator logistical costs.

CashCode has made significant inroads into a variety of global markets, including South America, South Africa, Europe, CIS and Asia, and continues to move into the North American market.

G2E Overview
This year, Elixir Gaming Technologies continues to expand the market presence of its brand of products throughout Europe and the Americas by means of sustained successful partnership with the Suzo-Happ Group. Among the company’s key objectives at G2E 2008 is translation of the successful penetration that the ShufflePro™ unit witnessed over the last nine months in France to the American market, and educating attendees about the beneficial environmental and financial impact offered by the ChipWa$her™.

Elixir Gaming Technologies’ focus continues to be the development and distribution of turnkey gaming solutions for the casino operator. The entire table games product line will be on display at Suzo-Happ Group booth, including the DeckChecker™, ChipWa$her and ShufflePro.

With the resurgence of table games popularity, player tracking in the pit is becoming an increasingly important and difficult task. Elixir’s RFID technology, chip manufacturing practices and industry partnerships make it the industry leader in its ability to provide the table games manager with the tools needed to track player habits and data.

The principle business activities of Elixir Gaming Technologies and its subsidiaries are the owning and leasing of electronic gaming machines placed in resorts, hotels and other venues throughout Asia, and the development and distribution of products related to the gaming industry. These products include electronic card shuffling devices, RFID casino chips, card scanners and chip washers. Since September 2007, the company has continued the successful pursuit of its valuable legacy business throughout North and South America and Europe through an exclusive distribution agreement with the Suzo-Happ Group.
